Video sizes for YouTube, Shorts, TikTok, Reels and Instagram (2026)

Cet article n'existe pas encore dans votre langue, il est donc affiché en anglais.

The right aspect ratio and resolution for every platform, in one table, and how to export all of them from one track at once.

Every platform crops videos that don't match its format — and a cropped music video loses its title, its artwork or both. This cheat sheet lists the sizes that work everywhere.

The cheat sheet

PlatformRatioRecommended size
YouTube (regular videos)16:91920×1080 (or 3840×2160 for 4K)
YouTube Shorts9:161080×1920
TikTok9:161080×1920
Instagram Reels9:161080×1920
Instagram feed, square1:11080×1080
Instagram feed, portrait4:51080×1350
Spotify Canvas9:161080×1920, 3–8 seconds, no sound

Length limits change often, so check each platform before a big release. As a rule of thumb, short vertical clips of 15–60 seconds do best on Shorts, TikTok and Reels.

Which file type?

Use MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio). Every platform accepts it. 30 frames per second is enough for almost everything; 60 fps only helps very fast, motion-heavy visuals and doubles the file size.

Safe zones on vertical video

On Shorts, TikTok and Reels the app covers the bottom of the video with the caption, the music label and buttons, and the right side with likes and comments. Keep the track title and artist name in the upper half or centre of the frame. In PulSound, set Text position to a top position for vertical videos.

Export all formats from one track

You don't need to rebuild the video for each platform. In the PulSound studio, press Export 3 formats: it renders 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Shorts/TikTok/Reels and 1:1 for the Instagram feed in one go, each at the right size. For short clips, choose Best 15/30/60 s — auto in Video length and PulSound picks the most energetic part of the song for you.

Open the studio and try it with your next release.
