How to convert WAV, FLAC or M4A to MP3 (free, online)

Diesen Artikel gibt es noch nicht in deiner Sprache, daher wird er auf Englisch angezeigt.

Turn big WAV, FLAC or M4A files into MP3 in seconds, several at a time — and which quality to choose.

Studios deliver WAV, phones record M4A, and archives are full of FLAC. But most sites, messengers and social networks want MP3. Here is how to convert any of them for free, without installing a converter and without uploading your music.

Convert to MP3 in three steps

  1. Open the free Convert audio tool.
  2. Add one or more files (WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG and others). They are converted on your device.
  3. Choose MP3 and the quality, then press Download.

Which MP3 quality to choose

QualityUse it forSize of a 3-minute song
320 kbpsReleases, sharing with labels, anything where sound mattersabout 7 MB
192 kbpsDemos, previews, messengersabout 4 MB
128 kbpsVoice, podcasts, quick sketchesabout 3 MB

Converting an MP3 back to WAV does not bring the lost quality back, so keep your original WAV or FLAC as the master.

Why not just upload to an online converter?

Most online converters send your file to their server. For an unreleased song that is a real risk. PulSound converts inside your browser, so the file never leaves your computer or phone.

Once the MP3 is ready, you can turn it into a video for YouTube, TikTok or Reels in the PulSound studio.

Did not work?

Most problems come from the browser or the device, not from your file. The quick fix: use the latest Chrome or Edge on a computer and refresh the page with Ctrl + F5. For everything else — no sound, WebM instead of MP4, iPhone files, slow export, GPU templates showing bars — see If something doesn’t work.
