Five spooky looks, the right colours and a step-by-step recipe — plus how to enter the Halloween Night challenge and get featured.
Halloween is the one week a year when dark, glowing, slightly scary visuals fit almost any track — trap, dubstep, synthwave, even a moody ballad. Here is how to make a Halloween music video in your browser in about two minutes, for free.
Five spooky looks that work
| Template | Mood | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Embers Rising | Glowing sparks over a dark warm base | Trap, dubstep, anything with a drop |
| Smoke Trails | Slow drifting smoke | Dark ambient, slow songs |
| Candle Flame | A single flickering flame | Acoustic, ballads, intimate tracks |
| Heat Haze | Wobbling dark bands that thicken on the bass | Dark hip-hop, drill, phonk |
| Glitch | RGB split on every hit — a “haunted screen” | Electronic, hyperpop |
The recipe
- Open the PulSound studio and add your track.
- Pick one of the templates above.
- Main colour: orange (#FF7A00). Second colour: purple (#9B30FF). Keep the background almost black.
- Optional: open Photo clip (on the beat) and add 5–30 dark photos — a costume, a candle-lit room, your cover. They change exactly on the beat.
- Turn on Photosensitive-safe mode if your track has hard flashes — spooky does not have to be dangerous.
- Press Export video. On a phone the studio already starts in 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.
Small touches that make it scarier
- Start the video right on the drop — the first second decides whether people keep watching.
- Put the title at the top in a thin white font; orange text on orange embers disappears.
- Use 2–3 colours, not a rainbow: black, orange, purple.

Did not work?
Most problems come from the browser or the device, not from your file. The quick fix: use the latest Chrome or Edge on a computer and refresh the page with Ctrl + F5. For everything else — no sound, WebM instead of MP4, iPhone files, slow export, GPU templates showing bars — see If something doesn’t work.
